Recipes

Engaging the culinary mind.

So a quick note.

I occasionally cook. It's not my passion or my calling. However when I do cook I like to make it count. No point in cooking if it isn't satisfying in the end. That's what take out is for.

So when it's 5PM and you hear a soft & hopeful voice call to you and say, "Hey, any ideas for dinner?"  I often turn to Pinterest.  I don't know about you, but when I get there I just want the      down and dirty recipe so I have some shot at dinner before primetime starts. As such, you'll find
no in-depth glossy step-by-step photos here, no cute and perky stories of kids, husbands or pets (unless you want to hear about my Plott Hound Sadie, see pic to the right) and no walks down memory lane woven in and around the info you need. Ok, maybe just a little,

Now about my "recipes" before we take this journey.  Please understand I grew up in a decidedly recipe free zone.  Recipes were jumping off points, guidelines if you will. Meant to by bent, and changed to suit a mood, a taste or mostly, what was in the pantry. I am also not a measurer,
I'm sure I have official spoons and cups somewhere, but hey it's now 5:15PM and dinner waits
for no one.
So if you plan to use a recipe of my devising, tread slowly, add and taste
as you go (you'll feel like you're on the Food Network) and trust your instincts.

And with that, I give you my "recipes."
